His Time, His Way

What is it about communicating through the written word? It began about five years ago . . . well, actually, it was before then. From a young age, I had a curiosity and a desire to write, and I believe God put it there. It was when I met a girl, only slightly older than myself, who had published her own book, that I really began wanting to write and publish a book. What would I write about, though? Well, I had an interest in the World War II time period. My Nana, who was British, grew up in England during the war and was one of many children who was sent to the country by train.

Was that why I wanted to write about the era? I’m not sure, but I had heard incredible stories of people who stood strong. People, Like Corrie Ten Boom, who had hidden Jews. Still, what would I write about? God began to reveal a plot to me, a plot that I could never have developed on my own, and He used others who helped to strengthen the storyline. It has been about five years since this journey began, and there was a period that I didn’t really have time to write. As I look back, though, I see God’s hand at work, because He has brought the storyline much further since then. He has developed and expanded it, and grown my life experiences, as well. I hope to bring Christ glory through my writing, in His time and in His way.

I encourage you, if God has given you a gift, allow Him to grow it and use it for His glory. “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning” (James 1:17, KJV).
